According to reports, Liverpool have a ‘list of options’  to replace their forward Mohamed Salah if he leaves.

Salah is out of contract at the end of the 2022/23 campaign. It is believed that the player is demanding a significant pay rise to extend his stay at Liverpool.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp acknowledged last week that they “cannot do much more” to tempt Salah to stay.

Ronaldo heads Premier League winners and losers

Salah is enjoying a sensational season. He has been involved in 30 goals from just 26 Premier League appearances.

He is a leading candidate to win the PFA Player of the Season award and he is spearheading Liverpool’s quadruple push.

Spanish outlet Fichajes are reporting that Liverpool are ‘looking for options in the market to replace Salah.’

They have revealed that the club have a ‘list of options’ that would ‘fit perfectly into the team’s approach’.

Fichajes name Ousmane Dembele, Marco Asensio, Serge Gnabry and Angel Di Maria as their ‘four possible replacements’ for Salah.

Di Maria previously had an unsuccessful spell at Man Utd. He was signed for £59m in 2014 but he departed a year later.

Gnabry meanwhile came through the ranks at Arsenal but he did make much of an impact for them at senior level. He has been with Bayern Munich since 2017 and he is now one of their standout players.

Elsewhere, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has praised his teammate Luis Diaz for his role in their 2-0 win at Brighton:

“Again, [he was] top-class. We’ve said it for weeks now, he’s come in and done fantastically well. With the ball it’s the quality he possesses, without the ball it’s the work-rate and winning the ball back.

“[It was] another big performance from him. It was an important goal for us at that time in the game and another big performance from him and another big performance from the team to get the three points.”

On the game as a whole and the threat that the Seagulls pose, Henderson added: “They’re always dangerous, [they] have good technical players and obviously have troubled us at times over the last couple of years.

“It was a big game for us today, and I felt as if we delivered. It was a professional performance. It’s three points on the road, which we’re delighted with.

“You always want a second goal and you always want that to kill the game off a little bit. Thankfully we managed to do that, we had a few more half-chances to score, especially on the counter.

“Overall, I think we’ll be very pleased with that performance, to be honest. We know we have to work and we know we have to improve all the time to get better with the teams that are at the top of the table around us.

“We have to push each other and drive each other on.”
