Manchester United have reportedly agreed a fee of €11m (£9.6m) with Real Sociedad to sell Adnan Januzaj.
Januzaj burst onto the scene in 2013/14, the brightest point of a dismal season under David Moyes, but has since struggled to replicate that form.
Having made 27 Premier League appearances for United in that season, Januzaj has failed to impress both Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho. He endured a disastrous loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, while also struggled to make an impact at Sunderland last season.
Now, France Football report that a fee has been agreed between United and Real Sociedad for Januzaj to leave the club on a permanent basis, which makes sense for all concerned.
“It’s true that we are interested in Januzaj but we are not in talks with Manchester or with him,” Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay said recently.
“We are waiting for the decision of Manchester United and then we will act. There are more teams interested in him and his signing won’t be easy.”
Those issues now look to have been ironed out, and a once exciting young player cleared out like deadwood. Sad really.
Big fan of Adnan Januzaj playing for Man United, Sunderland and now joining Real Sociedad, like he's on a weird David Moyes tribute tour.
