Nabil Fekir insists his knee is “super good”, but has refused to divulge information over his failed move to Liverpool.
Fekir was on the verge of joining Liverpool for £53million this summer, before Lyon called off negotiations after the Reds asked for a second opinion during his medical.
The forward’s agent has suggested that the move could still be alive despite the numerous hitches.
But any developments are likely to come after the World Cup, with Fekir part of France’s 23-man squad.
In a press conference previewing Les Bleus’ game with Peru on Thursday, the 24-year-old was predictably quizzed over his future at club level.
He said that he had met Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas at France’s training camp on Monday, but that no discussions were held over
“It was great to see Jean-Michel Aulas yesterday at Istra but we did not at all discuss my situation at Lyon,” he said.
When asked about whether Liverpool were trying to lower his valuation by airing concerns over his knee, Fekir replied: “You know I am here with France, I am happy, and I am not here to discuss my personal situation.
“We will see about all that later.”
He added: “My knee is super good. We work a lot on it, we reinforce it. But I honestly feel like before my injury.”
End of Nabil Fékir’s press conference – only one journalist dared to ask the Liverpool question & received a predictable response. Frenchman did not give anything away at all.
