Fellaini casts further doubt over Man United future

Marouane Fellaini says he doesn’t know whether he will sign a new contract at Manchester United after the club made him a contract offer.

Arsenal and PSG are among the clubs that have been linked with the Belgium international with the midfielder free join another club for free at the end of the campaign.

Fellaini has been in good form under Jose Mourinho this season and United are thought to be hoping to persuade the player to sign a new deal at Old Trafford but that looks like an increasingly forlorn hope.

Speaking to HUMO, Fellaini said: “Man United made me a contract proposal and I think they will make an another one.

“I don’t know yet if I’ll accept it – we will see. I have talked about it with Mourinho. He respects his players’ decisions.”

When asked whether he was worried about Fellaini’s potential departure in November, Mourinho said: “Yeah [worried Fellaini won’t be here]. [I have done] nothing, it is a discussion between the player and the board.

“I’m not involved in contracts in deals, and I respect both, I respect the player because he has the right, has the right to decide his future, and I respect the board because the decisions and the discussions are under control so I just wait wishing they will have an understanding but it’s out of my control.”
