Mourinho guided Spurs to a 3-2 triumph in a London derby against West Ham on Saturday and faces his first home match as Spurs boss against Olympiacos in the Champions League on Tuesday, follow all the action here.
A win for Spurs will seal a spot in the knockout stages of the competition and would give Mourinho a solid platform to build upon in the coming months.
But Mourinho’s reputation suffered a knock following his spell with United and Ferdinand has explained what his biggest mistake was.
“He came across very grubby. When I first saw Mourinho he was at a rival club but I loved watching him on TV, in his press conferences you would tune in and it’s box office. You loved hearing him speak after games, before games he was insightful, and there was a spark about him,” he told BT Sport.
“Then all of a sudden it has changed to being very miserable, downbeat and grumpy. Players feed off a manager’s charisma and how they promote themselves in the public’s glare, I just thought he was very negative in the way his body language was at the end.”
