Roberto Firmino admits it “would be awful” if Liverpool sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
Coutinho has emerged as Barca’s primary transfer target this summer, with the Brazilian attempting to force the move by handing in a transfer request.
Liverpool are adamant that they will keep the player however, and Jurgen Klopp has shown no signs of moving from that stance.
The manager has been ‘personally let down‘ by the player, and Firmino discussed the situation on Tuesday.
“I prefer to not think of this because it would be awful,” he told the Liverpool Echo when asked about a potential Coutinho sale.
“He’s a great player but also a great friend to me.
“It is normal that great teams are interested in his football but my concentration is now on the team.”
