Ryan Giggs says Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu is “a manager’s dream”.

Ampadu made his Wales debut last year under the tutelage of Chris Coleman, but replacement Giggs has sought to keep him involved in the international set-up.

The 18-year-old was hailed as “magnificent” by Giggs after impressing against the Republic of Ireland last month, but has appeared on just one Chelsea bench in all competitions this season.

He should feature for Wales against Spain and Ireland once more this month however, with Giggs also name-dropping Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson.

“You saw Harry’s goal against United and it’s hard not to get carried away with Ethan because I think he can be anything he wants to be,” Giggs said.

“He is only 18 and he’s not playing regularly, so you have to take that into account.

“But what a player and character to have – a manager’s dream. I know that he loves coming away and playing for his country, and that’s a massive plus for me.”
