Former €100m target tells Premier League trio he’s staying

Former Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United target Andrea Belotti is not interested in leaving Torino for “a big team”.

Belotti was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer, having scored 28 goals in 38 games for Torino.

United were interested in the forward, but Torino confirmed in June that they never received an approach from them.

He was also the subject of speculation regarding Arsenal and Chelsea moves, while AC Milan lodged a bid and Real Madrid held talks.

Belotti, whose release clause still stands at €100m for any bidders outside of Serie A, has not reached those heights this season, scoring nine goals in 25 games.

But the 24-year-old has decided to dampen speculation anyway.

“Many people tell me that I should leave Turin and go to a great team. But I’ll only leave Il Toro and go to a big team if there is the possibility to be a starter, I do not want to be on the bench,” he told RAI.

“Now I feel good after having overcome two injuries that have affected my season, there are still lots of games and I want to help Torino.”
