Former Man United defender: ‘Zlatan didn’t really jump’

Paul Parker has eviscerated Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his poor form since his return to Manchester United.

The Swede has come off the bench five times but has not made an impression, making it very difficult for Jose Mourinho to rest the under-performing Romelu Lukaku.

“Zlatan came on at the weekend against City and made no impression at all,” Parker told ESPN.

“He didn’t really jump, was beaten in the air, and was beaten to the ball.

“I don’t think at the moment that Manchester United fans could say ‘great to have him back’ if he was to be left out for Lukaku.

“I wonder how fit he really is. He never played any games prior to him coming back to test the knee. Training doesn’t do it.

“One thing that he never did was run in behind, and everyone now is a little bit sceptical about how fit he is at the moment.”

There are reports in Spain that Sunday’s brawl was sparked by a member of City’s team saying to Zlatan: “You talk a lot, but you move little.”
