Former Man Utd star backs Arsenal to win Premier League title and makes bold top four prediction

Former Manchester United and Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre thinks that Mikel Arteta’s side has what it takes to win the Premier League this season.
The Gunners led the way in the Premier League for the vast majority of last season but just fell short at the final hurdle.
Man City managed to click in the final few months of the season and there was no stopping them once they’d found their stride.
Arsenal have had a positive transfer window so far with the additions of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber.
Silvestre thinks that the Gunners have what it takes to go all the way this season and he’s stuck his neck on the line with a bold top four prediction.
“Arsenal will finish first. Second, Manchester United. Third is Manchester City and fourth will be Liverpool,” Silvestre told Betting Expert.
“The fact that Arsenal were challenging last season was a surprise to everyone and even to themselves.
“Now that they’ve done that with consistency, being in the first spot for so long, they clearly are title challengers this season. They’ll go for it and they should.”
Arsenal accumulated 84 points last season and finished five points shy of Man City who leapfrogged them towards the end.
Arteta’s side are definitely on an upwards trajectory, but it will take some effort to overthrow Pep Guardiola’s side next season.
City have lost some key players with the likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez departing, but they still have one of the strongest squads in Europe.
Glen Johnson shares a similar view to Silvestre as he thinks Arteta’s side will be challenging for the title next season.
“This transfer business is a great sign of intent from the club,” Johnson told Betfred. “They want to prove that last season wasn’t a flash in the pan.
“I don’t believe that Manchester City are going to be scared by Arsenal’s transfer business, but they’re going to be aware that Arsenal and the other big guys are going to improve.
“Chelsea and Liverpool won’t be as bad as they were last season and Manchester United are going to improve, so all of a sudden you’re back to having six teams competing for the top four of the Premier League again, but Manchester City won’t be worrying about any team because if they perform, they’re the ones to beat.
“It does however look as if Arsenal are going to close the gap even more.”
