Fulham ‘agree’ to sign La Liga forward; enter ‘talks’ with Everton over reuniting Silva with ex-player
According to reports, Fulham have ‘agreed a deal’ with La Liga outfit Sevilla for attacker Lucas Ocampos but the player is yet to green light this transfer.
Fulham were a surprise package last season as they finished 10th in the Premier League after being favourites for relegation before the 2022/23 campaign started.
They have made a couple of decent signings this summer as Calvin Bassey, Raul Jimenez, Adama Traore and Timothy Castagne have been recruited.
But this summer has not gone fully to plan because star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has completed a big-money move to the Saudi Pro League.
Mitrovic netted 14 goals in 24 Premier League games last season so he needs to be replaced. The Telegraph are reporting that ‘Ocampos will decide on a move to Fulham after the clubs agreed on the terms of a deal for his switch to Craven Cottage’.
The versatile forward is capable of playing on either flank and up front. He had a loan spell at Ajax at the start of last season but he helped Sevilla win the Europa League at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
The Telegraph’s report adds: ‘The 29-year-old has been on Marco Silva’s radar in his search for wide attacking options which has seen the club look at Everton’s Demarai Gray and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi.
‘With a broad agreement in place for Ocampos to move to the Premier League, the deal rests on whether the Argentine wants to leave behind Champions League football in Seville after winning the Europa League last season.
‘He has been available for the right deal this summer, with Sevilla considering offers for some of their biggest assets including Morocco goalkeeper Bono, who has joined Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.’

A separate report from Sky Sports claims Fulham are ‘in talks’ over signing Alex Iwobi from Premier League rivals Everton.
Current Fulham boss Marco Silva was Everton’s manager when they signed Iwobi from Arsenal in 2019 for an initial fee of around.
Iwobi has proven to be a positive signing for the Toffees as he has transitioned from a winger into a centre-midfielder. The report from Sky Sports explains.
‘Iwobi has entered the final year of his contract at Goodison Park. Marco Silva was manager of Everton when Iwobi joined from Arsenal.
‘Two other clubs are interested in the Nigerian midfielder – one unnamed Premier League club and one from Europe.’
