Garnacho ‘close’ to securing Man Utd contract; Sabitzer’s agent discusses permanent transfer

Alejandro Garnacho is close to ending speculation over his Man Utd future by signing a new five-year contract, according to a report.
The 18-year-old made his Man Utd debut against Chelsea last April.
He has been really impressive this season with Erik ten Hag handing him plenty of first-team opportunities.
Garnacho has played 25 games across all competitions in 2021-22 and memorably scored a last-gasp winner for the Red Devils away to Fulham in November.
The Argentine teenager is under contract until 2024 – though the club have the option to extend his deal by another year – but is only earning a measly £7,000 per week. How unfortunate.
Man Utd are eager to agree a new long-term deal with the player – who is looking for wages that represent his growing importance to the team.
Real Madrid have been linked with Garnacho with his contract situation up in the air.
However, it looks like the European champions will miss out on the Man Utd starlet.
Garnacho has ‘impressed’ Ten Hag, which is obvious from the amount of playing time he has consistently been getting.
Meanwhile, Marcel Sabitzer’s agent has discussed the midfielder’s future with his Man Utd stint coming to an end this summer.
The Red Devils signed Sabitzer on loan until the end of the season on January deadline day after Christian Eriksen suffered a long-term injury.
The Austrian has impressed in his short time in England and his agent, Roger Wittmann, is not surprised.
“Marcel is a top player,” Wittmann told SPORT1. “It doesn’t surprise me at all that he’s performing so well so quickly.
“If you have as much experience as Marcel, whether in the Champions League or with his more than 60 international matches.”
“It doesn’t take long to find your way around a club and a league like this.
“He loves this English hardness! It was clear from the start that the Premier League was a great fit for him. He’s an aggressive player. He does exactly what he can there. And that’s what’s needed there.”
Wittmann discussed Sabitzer’s future at Old Trafford, insisting a decision will be made at the end of the season.
He added: “At Manchester United we see Marcel from Leipzig again. I’m very happy for him.”
On what will happen this summer: “We’ll see when the time comes.”
It is believed that Sabitzer’s parent club, Bayern Munich, will ask for around £18million to sell the Austrian international in the summer transfer window.
