Gary Neville says Kepa Arrizabalaga is becoming a “real problem” for Chelsea after the goalkeeper made a huge mistake in their 2-0 loss to Liverpool.

Sadio Mane blocked Kepa’s laboured clearance and tapped home his second goal as 10-man Chelsea succumbed to Jurgen Klopp’s defending Premier League champions at Stamford Bridge.

Andreas Christensen’s red card handed Liverpool an advantage they fully exploited, but Blues boss Frank Lampard conceded Kepa was at fault for the second goal – and is in desperate need of a confidence boost.

Reacting to Kepa’s latest blunder, Neville said: “Kepa, well, we know his fate. There’s no point deliberating it any further.

“I thought Kepa got away with it with the red card. He should not have been out there. Mane would have gone around him and scored. It’s a real problem if you’ve got a goalkeeper making errors. The anxiety it creates in the team is really bad.”

Neville reserved praise for Mane though with his “exceptional” work-rate forcing Kepa into the error.

“You have to admire Sadio Mane, he’s an exceptional talent but his work-rate is equally exceptional,” Neville added. “That’s an example of how to react after making a mistake [from Mane]. Liverpool’s work off the ball is brilliant to watch.”
