Gary Neville has named Erling Haaland as the one player he thinks Manchester United should sign.
United are one of a number of top European clubs said to be interested in Haaland, whom Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits he continues to admire from afar having coached the striker at Molde.
“When you have had kids and players through as a coach, you follow them and I keep in touch with Erling,” Solskjaer said.
“It’s great to see him become the player he has become and [how] he works to improve all the time. He’s a Borussia Dortmund player – we just wish him well there and let’s see what life will bring later on.”
Reports on Wednesday revealed that Haaland has whittled the options for his potential next club to six, with Chelsea one of the clubs now out of the running as they are not an ‘absolute top club’.
United remain in the running along with Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.
And Neville says if he was in charge at Old Trafford, Haaland would be the one player he would sign.
