Gerrard identifies Chelsea’s one weakness

Chelsea are nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table but Steven Gerrard believes they have a weakness.

The Blues drew 1-1 with Gerrard’s beloved Liverpool on Tuesday night but the Reds were just the fourth side to breach their defence in the Premier League since the start of October.

Georginio Wijnaldum scored with a header and Gerrard said on BT Sport: “What I will say about this Chelsea team is they’ve got a lot of strength and a lot going for them going forward.

“But they are vulnerable to crosses, we’ve seen that against Tottenham a few weeks ago with the two Dele Alli efforts.

“And we’ve seen it again today – Jordan Henderson has put two or three wonderful balls in and that’s how I think you catch this Chelsea defence out.”
