Gossip: £125m for two Man Utd targets; Matic out

BERGWIJN TO MAN UNITED?
It’s all pretty vague but the Daily Mirror claim that Steven Bergwijn is ready to leave PSV Eindhoven and he could leave the Dutch club for Manchester United if they qualify for the Champions League. Or rather he has said that he would leave PSV for Champions League football and United are one of the clubs linked with the winger.

He scored 14 goals in 33 appearances in the Eredivisie and the Mirror claim this could make him a £40m signing…which is rather a lot cheaper than the man below.

PRICE NAMED FOR HAALAND
Wow. Erling Braut Haaland has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United, but the word out of Barcelona is that Red Bull Salzburg want £85m for the Norwegian striker who has scored 26 goals in 18 appearances this season. ESPN claim that Barca have been put off by that ridiculous price tag.

A source said Barcelona thought that price was “disproportionate” and “not in line with market value”, so it remains to be seen whether United, or Real Madrid, or Juventus will move for a player who will surely end up at Leipzig in the first instance.

MATIC OUT?
Nemanja Matic could leave Manchester United as early as January, according to the Daily Telegraph. He is ‘thought to be ready to leave if the club are willing to sanction a mid-season transfer’. And why wouldn’t they? Matic has fallen behind Scott McTominay and even Fred in the midfield pecking order.

Where will he go? Italian clubs AC Milan and Inter Milan showed interest in the summer so that seems likely; perhaps Milan will put together Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United side as they are also interested in Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
