Gossip: Arsenal propose Ozil swap deal with Real

ARSENAL’S PLAN TO SHIFT OZIL
Arsenal want Mesut Ozil off their books, that much we know from the last few days. Unai Emery feels he cannot trust the German in his system and the new-ish manager would be quite content to see the 30-year-old leave in January. Which is easier said than done.

Ozil is on huge wages at the Emirates having signed a new contract earlier this year. Reports on Friday suggested Arsenal may have to part-fund the playmaker’s exit by subsidising his wages but, according to The Independent, the Gunners have a cunning plan…

They think there might be a swap deal to be done involving Isco and a return to Real Madrid for Ozil. It’s a ballsy play. Real apparently want around £100million for the 26-year-old Spain international who is also being pursued by Chelsea and Manchester City.

Apparently, Arsenal understand that they would have to send Ozil back to Real with a barrel load of cash if they are to get Isco in return, which seems peculiar given the Gunners are watching the pennies at the moment.

CHELSEA LINE UP STRIKER SWAP
Speaking of swapsies, Chelsea reckon they can solve their striker problem by doing a deal with AC Milan.

The word according to Sky Sports is that the Blues hope to send Alvaro Morata to the San Siro and in return, they want Gonzalo Higuain. Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of the Argentina centre-forward, with the Chelsea boss referring to Higuain on Friday as a “wonderful player”, one he knows well from their time at Napoli.

One complication: Higuain is on loan at Milan from Juventus. The 31-year-old joined the Rossoneri in the summer in a £16.3million swap deal with the option to make it a permanent move for double that figure.

Milan have been eyeing another Chelsea player, but they are not the only club interested in Cesc Fabregas.

L’Equipe reckons Thierry Henry wants to bring his former Arsenal team-mate to Monaco, who certainly need help. Henry’s side are currently in the sh*t in Ligue 1, with only Guingamp between them and the bottom of the table.
