BARCA LINE UP LACAZETTE DEAL
Unai Emery needs to trim some of the fat off his squad this summer but, unfortunately, Barcelona aren’t that bothered about Carl Jenkinson. The player they do want is presumably one of the stars Emery most wants to keep.

Apparently, Barca are ready to offer £70million for Alexandre Lacazette, who has been named as Arsenal’s player of the season. That’s the claim of the Sunday Express, though there’s little more meat on the bone, other than the admission that no formal talks have taken place. Righto…

CITY STILL CARRYING TORCH FOR DE LIGT
Barca are a little further down the line with Matthijs De Ligt, with a deal worth around £65million said to be in the offing to take the Ajax defender to the Nou Camp in time for him to share a lift with Frenkie De Jong.

But Manchester City are said to retain hopes of scuppering Barca’s plan. The Star on Sunday reckons Pep Guardiola hasn’t yet resigned himself to being beaten to another Barca prospect so soon after missing out on De Jong.

Even if he isn’t too late, Guardiola might have a problem convincing De Ligt to move to the Etihad. Apparently, the central defender is only interested in Barca or Bayern Munich, though Mino Raiola still sees another opportunity to pull Ed Woodward’s pants down.

NAVAS TO FINALLY GET UNITED MOVE?
The agents are apparently queueing up to offer their players to Manchester United and Keylor Navas’s representatives are jostling to get themselves to the front of the line.

The Sunday Telegraph reports that the Real Madrid keeper will be offered to United again this summer, four years after a swap deal of sorts involving the Chilean and David De Gea hilariously broke down at the last minute. Real have apparently instructed intermediaries to find a Premier League club for Navas this summer, and because De Gea has chucked a few in lately amid doubts over his long-term future, their first phone call is likely to be to Woodward.

The Sun on Sunday’s story goes that De Gea has been given a week to reply to United’s latest contract offer, though recent reports suggested that no talks had been taking place. Make of that what you will…
