SISSOKO LEAVE BARKLEY IN LIMBO
Now this is a stretch, but these are desperate times for gossip. It comes from an excellent piece on ESPN from Tottenham expert Dan Kilpatrick. He waxes lyrical about Moussa Sissoko’s renaissance and indicates that it might stop Mauricio Pochettino from moving for Ross Barkley this January.
‘Pochettino acknowledged his importance to Aurier and Sissoko’s renaissance comes at a good time for the manager. Mousa Dembele is struggling with a foot problem and Pochettino has been planning for life after the Belgian by targeting Everton’s Ross Barkley. Sissoko, though, has always said he is a central midfielder who likes to play box-to-box. If he continues to improve, he could save Spurs from spending another £30m on the England player in January.’
Poor Ross. Maybe he shouldn’t have turned down Chelsea, after all.
AUBAMEYANG STILL WANTED IN CHINA
He is one of European football’s most prolific strikers but for some reason, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not wanted by any of European football’s biggest clubs. He is wanted in China, though. Specifically by Tianjin Quanjian.
“He is worth €65m (£57m) to €70m (£61m),” the club’s billionaire owner Shu Yuhui says. “I would pay that too. He would help us make the club and the Chinese league more internationally known.”
CHELSEA AND MAN UNITED WANT KID
He was born in March 2001. Bloody hell. Anyway, Pietro Pellegri has already scored two goals for Genoa this season in Serie A. Actually, he scored a Serie A goal last season when he was only 15. The show-off.
The Sun online claim that Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus are all interested but ‘sources close to Genoa have told us that chairman Enrico Preziosi will only consider a sale if they receive around £40million’.
