SHAW WANTS MAN UNITED PAY-OFF
There was so much wonderful football on Sunday that there is precious little gossip in the actual newspapers so we have to go into the shady world of online transfer claims. Which of course leads us to The Sun online’s Daniel Cutts, who tells us that ‘Luke Shaw wants a £5m Manchester United pay-off to leave in January’ because he knows he will not earn £130,000 a week if he leaves the club to join Newcastle or even Tottenham. United are inclined to give him a severance package of closer to £2m.
Newcastle are said to have tested the water about signing the left-back in January but were put off by the £20m asking fee, so a six-month loan might be Shaw’s initial exit route out of Old Trafford.
OH MKHI, YOU’RE NOT SO FINE
Manchester derby time and Henrikh Mkhitaryan was not even on the bench as his fall from grace reached a new low. According to the Star, he ‘wants showdown talks with Jose Mourinho over his Manchester United future’. If we were him, we could give it a few days.
The Armenian has not started a game since the 1-0 defeat at Chelsea in early November and it does not look like he will be starting another any time soon. “At the moment it doesn’t look like there’s a way back,” said Steven Gerrard earlier in the week. The man and his advisors want to know whether the door is completely closed.
Wherever Mkhitaryan is Lukaku needs to be

BELLERIN TO JUVENTUS?
We have long been accustomed to Arsenal right-back Hestor Bellerin being linked with Barcelona but now Tuttosport are claiming interest in the Spaniard from Italian giants Juventus. They will release 33-year-old right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner next summer and Bellerin is said to head a list of possible replacements that also includes Thomas Meunier of Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid star Sime Vrsaljko.
Bellerin's performances have dropped because he knows he has literally no competition for his place. Debuchy usually not even in the squad!
