Gossip: Inter offer £21m to borrow Man Utd attacker

INTER TO TAKE ANOTHER UNITED CAST-OFF
Relations between Manchester United and Inter Milan have certainly been strained in recent years – we have Ivan Perisic to thank for that. But it seems Inter are keen to make amends.

Having already coughed up for Romelu Lukaku, Inter could be about to take Alexis Sanchez off their hands. The Mail on Sunday reckons the Chilean may be ’24 hours’ from sealing a move to the San Siro – but there is still plenty of negotiating to be done.

Inter are currently offering £4.5million for a season-long loan with another £16.5million due at the end of Sanchez’s second season in Italy. But United want £22million up front.

It was assumed that Sanchez’s wages would be a sticking point in any move this summer but the former Arsenal and Barcelona star is said to be willing to accept a pay-cut. The forward would accept lower terms than Lukaku, who is Inter’s highest-paid player ever. Though it remains unclear for how much United will be liable while he’s Inter’s problem.

Roma were thought to be in pole position for Sanchez but the Sunday Mirror reports the player said no to a move to the Italian capital despite the two clubs having agreed a loan deal with an option to buy.

REAL LATE BID FOR ERIKSEN
Christian Eriksen has left Tottenham in a right old fluffery buffery. According to the Sunday Mirror, Spurs can’t understand why the Denmark star won’t even listen to their proposal while they try their hardest to give him £200,000 a week.

It’s not as if there is a queue of clubs waiting to sweep Eriksen off his feet. Indeed, Spurs have received no official offers for the 27-year-old.

But the Star on Sunday suggests that could change. After trying their hardest to sign anyone but, it seems Real Madrid might have to settle for Eriksen after all. A £60million bid may be heading Spurs’ way before the Spanish deadline on September 2.

But only after they’ve made another attempt to sign Paul Pogba. The Sunday Times reports that Real will antagonise United by “furthering a long-standing attempt to sign the France international”. With what? They couldn’t afford Pogba before; part-exchange offers are of no use to United; and since ‘Operation 200’ has failed spectacularly, what could they possibly offer?
