MALCOM IN THE MIDDLE
On Sunday, Duncan Castles reported in the Times that Manchester United wanted to sign Malcom. Such is the power and reach of old Dunc, Bordeaux were forced to respond within hours.
“He will not leave this winter. Even if we are ready in the process? I do not see what would be the interest of a club to do that,” said club president Stephane Martin amid claims that United would be willing to spend £26million on the Brazilian.
So that’s the end of that. A truly seminal Sunday Times sport front page denied in record time.
Incredible that the front page of the Sunday Times sports section has transfer rumours from supposed "newspapers" Diario Gol & Don Balon https://t.co/f3BNczP5Sx

Elsewhere in the murky transfer underworld of Old Trafford, poor put-upon United really are desperate to spend some money in January in an attempt to overhaul Manchester City’s 11-point gap at the top of the Premier League. According to the Daily Mirror, they will offer £60m for Chelsea target Alex Sandro.
Sandro has long been linked with a move to England, with Chelsea having a £65m offer rejected in the summer. But the left-back’s ‘alarming drop in form’ has lowered his stock at Juventus slightly, and United are now ‘in the running’.
Danny Rose remains a primary target but United are painfully aware that a move for Sandro ‘will be a lot easier to get done’.
The story also adds that Matteo Darmian could be flogged off to Turkey. Good news all round.
KISS MY FACE
Sticking with the Mirror and yer boy John Cross, who says that Chelsea ‘are considering launching a bid’ for Wilfried Zaha.
Tottenham have been heavily interested in the Crystal Palace winger for many, many years, but their inability to complete deals before the final week of the transfer window has slightly harmed their prospects. Which means that the champions may be able to steal in next summer.
Palace would not even entertain a sale in January, but Chelsea ‘are looking to strengthen their squad’. Zaha would certainly do just that.
