OLE IN FOR LIVERPOOL TARGET

Timo Werner has been frequently linked with a move away from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, with Liverpool‘s name cropping up as his most likely destination. However, the Daily Express claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ‘stepped up his interest’ in the Germany international as he looks to boost Man Utd‘s firepower.

Werner signed a new deal late in August but within those terms there is said to be a startlingly low release clause of around £30m which suggests Leipzig are ready to lose the forward in the not-too-distant future. The 23-year-old has scored 68 times in 124 appearances over the last three seasons since joining Leipzig.

Mario Mandzukic had looked like the man that United would bring in to increase their goals – but reports recently claimed that the Croatia will join AC Milan instead of the Red Devils in January. Solskjaer may not be able to sign Werner in January, though, with the Daily Express adding that he may be ‘forced to wait to get his man’ with Leipzig wanting to keep hold until the end of the season.

PSG HIJACKING REAL DEAL FOR SPURS MAN

Christian Eriksen‘s future was up in the air all summer after he said he was looking for a fresh challenge as he entered the final year of his contract, but a move to a top European club has not materialised. Real Madrid were the main side linked with a move for the Dane but there was no concrete interest from the La Liga side and the 27-year-old remains in north London for the time being.

Interest from Real is still reportedly there and the Daily Mail claims that Paris Saint-Germain ‘are set to hijack’ a move from Zinedine Zidane’s outfit in the summer. Spurs are looking to ‘recoup some cash’ in the January window but Eriksen is likely to hang around until the end of the season when he can bag a ‘more lucrative deal next June’. PSG ‘plan to move in’ when he can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club outside of England.

Real Madrid’s plan, meanwhile, is to sell midfield duo Leandro Paredes and Julian Draxler and ‘bring in Eriksen’.
