REAL LOOK TO FUND POGBA AND MBAPPE MOVES
This morning’s Gossip is brought to you from three months ago…
Real Madrid are once again on the tail of Paul Pogba and again they are trying to shift their deadwood as part of a deal with Manchester United. According to El Desmarque, Florentino Perez is willing to offer up Gareth Bale and £90million for the France midfielder – but Zinedine Zidane will have to earn his big prize with some improved performances from Real.
Calciomercato also says Real want rid of Bale, with James Rodriguez being touted around too. Their report, whoever, suggests the funds will go towards a move for Kylian Mbappe. None of these cunning plans worked in the summer, so Perez might be wise to find the money elsewhere.
Perez is known to be desperate to land Mbappe and should it come down to a choice between the PSG star or Zidane’s preference for Pogba, it seems likely there will only be one winner.
BAYERN EYE ARSENAL AND EVERTON TARGET
Bayern Munich are down to the bare bones in terms of centre-backs. Niklas Sule has been ruled out for the season and summer signing Lucas Hernandez has just undergone surgery on an ankle injury. So the Bundesliga giants are planning on dipping into the January market.
Athletic Bilbao defender Unai Nunez is the first name on their list, and Goal reckons contact has already been made between Bayern and the recently-capped Spain international. Nunez has also been linked with Arsenal and Everton and his £26million release clause is well within Bayern’s budget.
AND THE REST
Mesut Ozil’s advisors are pushing the Arsenal outcast to consider a move to MLS… Manchester City could take up their option to buy back Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa… Willian is keen to stay at Chelsea despite his contract expiring at the end of the season… Roma will decide next week whether to sign Jack Rodwell… They are also in talks with Man Utd over a permanent deal for on-loan defender Chris Smalling… Wolves want to agree a new contract with Willy Boly.
