TRIPPIER TO MAN UNITED
First let’s deal with the revelation in the Daily Mail that Kieran Tripper knows his number is probably up at Tottenham and is looking to leave this summer. Let’s also deal with the fact that Tottenham apparently want £30m for the England full-back who has just been dropped by Gareth Southgate from his Nations League squad. So Trippier might well be off, but where to?
According to the Daily Mail, ‘Manchester United, Everton and Napoli among the clubs monitoring his situation’. How times have changed when Manchester United is considered a step down from Tottenham? A move to United would make sense for all parties, with United rumoured to be reluctant to pay top dollar for Aaron Wan-Bissaka so soon after paying a fair few quid for Diogo Dalot.
A BIG OLD NEYMAR SWAP
‘Barcelona have opened discussions with Paris Saint-Germain over a transfer that would bring Neymar back to the Camp Nou,’ claims Duncan Castles in the Daily Record. He claims that Barcelona are offering some quite sexy deals for the Brazilian, including the part-exchange of either of the two players Barcelona signed in a rush with the money they received from PSG for Neymar.
So that’s gossip involving three of the four most expensive footballers of all time – all of whom moved for over 100m Euros and all of whom have been qualified successes. And we’re still more interested in the prospect of Kieran Trippier joining Manchester United. That’s Brexit for you.
