NDOMBELE DOOR OPEN FOR UNITED
On the day that Ander Herrera officially becomes an ex-Manchester United player, the Red Devils are being linked with a couple of midfielders to fill the void.
One from way out of left field is John McGinn. Read all about United’s interest in the Scotland midfielder who now goes about his business with a £50million price tag.
Only £5million more might get you Tanguy Ndombele. That’s the initial price Tottenham have agreed to pay Lyon for the France enforcer plus another £9million in possible add-ons. But L’Equipe claims it is no done deal.
Apparently, Ndombele and Spurs have to reach an agreement over personal terms which leaves the door open for United. But while Paul Pogba remains on their books, the Red Devils have no room for his international team-mate. Should that change, then United could go again for Ndombele. But Pogba won’t be going anywhere soon given no one else can afford him, so the prospect of Ndombele heading to Old Trafford seems remote. United’s ‘interest’ smells very much like an agent trying focus Daniel Levy’s mind.
COUTINHO COMING HOME?
One of the other 263 players United have been linked with this summer is Philippe Coutinho. That won’t be happening for many good reasons. One of them apparently being that Coutinho won’t consider moving to Old Trafford out of respect for Liverpool.
The question set Coutinho up for an open goal when there was no offer on the table from United but given his form for Barca, there was certainly no guarantee he’d tap it in. But Le10Sport reckons the Brazilian’s comments have had more impact than simply some easy point-scoring. Their story goes that Coutinho’s words have made Liverpool warm to the possibility of bringing him back to Anfield.
Sure, Liverpool with all their recruitment nous, will definitely tear up all their summer plans and likely smash their transfer record to re-sign a player they don’t miss just because he scored a few cheap points in response to a question about Man Utd.
