Gossip: Markovic, Grujic, Gomes, Cuadrado

Klopp to recall Markovic, Manchester United want Grujic, Arsenal target Andre Gomes
KLOPP TO RECALL MARKOVIC?
An interesting line in the Liverpool Echo on Wednesday morning, who reveal that Liverpool have the option of recalling Lazar Markovic from his loan at Fenerbahce in January. Furthermore, Jurgen Klopp is considering doing exactly that.
Markovic was allowed to leave Anfield by Brendan Rodgers after the £20million signing failed to suitably adapt to English football. He also failed to adapt to being shoved in various different positions that he had no experience of playing in, which Markovic himself admits was an issue.
Now Klopp is considering reintegrating the winger into Liverpool’s squad. Markovic has so far been a hit in Turkey, though only played 205 minutes in the league.
UNITED WANT GRUJIC
Nope, us neither. But the Daily Mail have revealed that Manchester United are prepared to battle Chelsea for the services of Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic.
United reportedly sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old play last weekend against Rad Beograd, a game in which the midfielder scored.
Grujic is already 6ft 3in, plays in central midfield, won the Under-20 World Cup with Serbia and would cost £3m. Chelsea have also scouted him, and he’s expressed a boyhood ambition to be loaned out for three years without a sniff of first-team football.
ARSENAL TARGET ANDRE GOMES
‘Arsenal scouts have been in Spain recently to evaluate Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes ahead of a possible transfer, according to reports,’ reads the first line of a piece in the Metro. Evaluating obviously means scouting.
Andre Gomes is a talent, that much is clear. Yet we can’t help think that if Arsenal wanted the midfielder they would have bought him from Benfica rather than waiting for him to join Valencia and thus letting his price increase.
Plus, it’s all from Fichajes.net so… y’know.
£16M. FOR CUADRADO
Good old Juventus eh? Jose Mourinho might have more problems than Jay-Z, but Juan Cuadrado might not be one for much longer.
That’s because Juventus are reportedly prepared to pay £16m to sign the Colombian in January. That’s only £2m below Chelsea’s original asking price, which is bloody mad.
It’s Matt Law in the Daily Telegraph who reports the news. Cuadrado has started four Premier League games for Chelsea. One of the most disappointing signings in years.
