Gossip: Martins Indi, Rojo, Stones, Ospina

Well, it looks like Louis van Gaal has fallen out with Marcos Rojo yet again. The Argentinean defender has previously discussed his rocky relationship with the manager, and it was revealed that the club tried to offload him to French side Monaco as part of the deal to sign Anthony Martial.

Passport issues also curtailed Rojo’s start to the season, with his first – and only – game coming against Southampton in late September. As Van Gaal revealed later however, Rojo had played with an injury (that he had not informed the manager about) and is now sidelined.

So, it looks like it could be the end of the Old Trafford road for Rojo. That’s certainly what the Manchester Evening News believe, as they claim that the club want to sell the £16million man and replace him with Bruno Martins Indi.

Martins Indi has only been at Porto since 2014 after signing from Feyenoord, but the Dutch defender has a rather close relationship with Van Gaal following their time together at international level.

Adept at either centre-half or left-back (sounds familiar), Martins Indi has been previously linked with United, but it appears that interest will resurface come January.

According to The Sun, David Ospina is seeking to leave Arsenal on loan in January.

This all boils down to the Colombian being dropped for Petr Cech for Arsenal’s remaining Champions League fixtures – an imminent decision which has left him feeling “extremely frustrated”. Perhaps if he hadn’t inexplicably dropped the ball into his own net against Olympiacos things would have been different. Poor David.

The Sun credit Turkish club Besiktas and La Liga side Getafe with an interest, which says most of what you need to know about big Dave.

Shock horror, we know.

This comes from the Daily Mirror, who claims Chelsea are ready to sanction a fifth bid for Everton defender John Stones in January. We assume Jose Mourinho has forgotten he has Papy Djilobodji in his arsenal.

That’s not all however. Not only Stones, but Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos will be the subject of another Chelsea bid come January. The Brazilian centre-half was a late target for the Blues in the summer, with the French side rejecting a bid of around £30million. In a desperate move to reduce the need for John Terry, it looks like Chelsea will be back for more this winter.
