LEWANDOWSKI’S AGENT MAKING PL NOISES
The Sun had an ‘exclusive’ yesterday suggesting Robert Lewandowski fancied a crack at the Premier League and it seems his new agent has been doing the rounds.
Sky Sports are now saying something very similar, claiming Man Utd and Chelsea both want to sign the Poland striker if Pini Zahavi can persuade Bayern Munich to let him go. They ‘understand’ that Lewandowski wants out of Bayern and his future will become clearer over the next fortnight.
Unlike The Sun’s story, Sky at least bother to mention Real Madrid – and PSG too, if Edinson Cavani does one in the summer. Ex-Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has suggested Harry Kane is the club’s preferred option for this summer, which is probably why Lewandowski is fluttering his eyelashes at United and Chelsea.
PSG PROPOSE MBAPPE/COUTINHO SWAP
Speaking of Paris Saint-Germain (we were, weren’t we?) there’s some weapons grade bullsh*t being laid by El Pais. Or is it?
The Spanish publication claims PSG are considering offering Barcelona the chance to sign Kylian Mbappe in return for cash and Philippe Coutinho. All to keep the smile on Neymar’s face.
The story quotes a range of sources who suggest Neymar has seen his arse over Mbappe being quite good, with the crocked Brazilian supposedly concerned that his younger team-mate could put him in the shade when it comes to the Golden Ball.
“If Mbappe is better than Neymar, let’s hope he does not show it yet,” said ‘a leader’ at PSG in a supposedly private conversation last month, and El Pais have pinpointed several instances on the pitch that prove Neymar and Mbappe are not playing nicely together. Dani Alves is very much #TeamNeymar, apparently.
So, the brains trust at PSG have come up with the idea of getting rid of Mbappe in part-exchange for Coutinho, who they presume would be quite willing to play the role of Neymar’s fluffer because they are good mates.
Even though Mbappe is supposedly unfazed by Neymar’s delicate ego, Man City are also said to be aware of the possibility that PSG might sell the 19-year-old, seemingly because he’s been playing too well.
