MALCOM ON THE MOVE – AGAIN
It’s just not a transfer window without a scramble for Malcom and despite the Brazil attacker moving in the summer, he may well do again in January.
It hasn’t gone well for the former Arsenal and Tottenham target at Barcelona. Malcom has been restricted to just 25 minutes of action since his £36.5million move from Bordeaux and though Barca apparently aren’t looking to push the 21-year-old out of the door, according to Corriere Dello Sport, they might be tempted if there’s a profit to be made.
Inter are apparently keen, but Spurs could be the frontrunners. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been linked with the left-sided forward since he emerged at Bordeaux and it is reported they are the side most likely to give Barca their money back and perhaps a little tickle on top too.
According to The Sun, Spurs will make room in their squad bu trimming the fat the January. Mousa Dembele, Victor Wanyama, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Vincent Janssen could all be shown the door, while Dele Alli is said to be close to signing a new deal.
JORDI ALBA THE LATEST TO USE UNITED
Malcom might not be the only one heading for the Barca exit. Jordi Alba may be drifting towards the door too. And when he gets there, apparently, Man Utd could be waiting for him.
Sport reckons contract negotiations between Barca and the left-back have stalled due to the player’s demands. The 29-year-old has a season and a half left on his current deal, but the report suggests United and Juve are keen to persuade him to sign for them instead.
Having just signed Luke Shaw to a massive new contract while a gaping hole exists on the right side of their defence, it would be so typically Woodward to sign a 30-year-old big name Barca left-back on huge wages.
United also have competition for another target. Reports earlier this week suggested the Red Devils were reluctant to pay £40million for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic but, according to Calciomercato, Bayern Munich’s interest has bumped the price up to £50million.
