Gossip: Suarez, Neymar and Busquets. Obviously.

MORE SUMMER CITY SIGNINGS. YAWN
Don’t think that the rumours have died down over just who Pep Guardiola will bring to Manchester City this summer. Oh no. In fact, with City losing at home to Leicester on Saturday, the Sunday papers have gone into overdrive.
The Mirror claim that Guardiola will try and sign Luis Suarez from Barcelona, which did make us giggle. The evidence for the move is that Guardiola’s brother is Suarez’s agent, but there is still Barcelona to consider in all this. There’s also Suarez himself, who said only a week ago that he would only return to England to play for Liverpool.
Elsewhere, the Mail on Sunday go ballsier still. They claim that Guardiola is aiming to sign Neymar and Sergio Busquets from Barcelona this summer.
Now listen here. Can we all agree that Guardiola probably does want to sign the world’s best players, just as any manager would? The interesting bit comes if their clubs are prepared to sell and the players themselves want the moves.
CITY RIVAL UNITED FOR MANE
Something different now, with claims in The Sun on Sunday that both Manchester rivals will fight for the services of Southampton’s Sadio Mane this summer.
‘Manchester City have joined the race for Sadio Mane,’ the piece begins. ‘The Southampton forward is set for a summer move with Manchester United leading the chase for the £25million star. But City director of football Txiki Begiristain has been asked to be kept informed about the Senegal international.’
‘Kept informed’? What does that even mean? Is Begiristain not going to bother tracking Mane, but instead rely on United or Southampton telling them that deal is on the cards? If so, we fear City will struggle in this ‘race’.
EVERYBODY WANTS DEMBELE
No, not that Dembele. No, not that Dembele either. This one’s Ousmane Dembele, a player covered by WhoScored in their list of the best U21 performers in Europe this season.
The Mail report that anybody who is anybody in the Premier League is tracking the Rennes winger. Dembele doesn’t turn 19 until May, and has scored four times in nine appearances in Ligue Un this season.
The Mail lead on interest from Leicester City, but also mention that Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Southampton have also been scouting him with a view to firming up their interest. Inevitably, the phrase ‘new Riyad Mahrez’ is used liberally.
