BAILLY AND LUKAKU OUT?
Well, well. Maybe Manchester United are going to be able to chop the deadwood after all. First, Romelu Lukaku. The Sun claim that ‘INTER MILAN will this week tell Manchester United they will meet their £75million asking price for Romelu Lukaku – but only in a deal including bonus payments’. We strongly suggest that they take the deal, which includes a payment of £40m up front, £20m over the next two years and another £15m based on appearances/trophies and the like.
And Tuttosport claim that AC Milan might want to take Eric Bailly off United’s hands, though it sounds like they will not come close to United’s valuation of the Ivory Coast international as they seem to see Bailly as a cheaper alternative to Dejan Lovren, who would cost around £18m. Can we really see United accepting less than half of their £34m outlay for Bailly?
ALL CHANGE AT EVERTON?
It seems that Idrissa Gueye may finally get his dream move to PSG with Everton said to be willing to sell the Senegal midfielder for £30m after bringing in Fabian Delph in the most sensible signing of the summer. Ademola Lookman is also likely to leave for RB Leipzig, though the deal is not as close to conclusion as some reports would suggest.
But the real excitement comes from the suggestion that Everton are very interested in veteran Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic as one of their two attacking signings this summer. They are also interested in ‘Lille’s Nicolas Pepe, who would cost around £58.5million, along with Ajax’s David Neres, Lyon forward Bertrand Traore and Barcelona’s Malcom’, according to the Daily Telegraph.
ALL CHANGE AT TOTTENHAM?
Kieran Trippier is likely to join Atletico Madrid, but he will not be the only full-back leaving Tottenham this summer, with Danny Rose swerving the club’s pre-season tour to try and engineer a move away from the club. There is also some suggestion from the Evening Standard that Christian Eriksen is a target for Atletico, but that sounds like a stretch.
A more likely exiter is Toby Alderweireld, with the Daily Mirror reporting a breakthrough in negotiations with Roma, who cannot or will not pay the full £25m asking price for the Belgian midfielder. But what they might do is pay some cash and send 20-year-old attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo in part-exchange. Spurs are said to be very interested in the twice-capped Italy international.
