Manchester United will loan out James Wilson – as long as they can recall him – Jack Grealish will choose England, and Arsenal and Spurs want Breel Embolo for £10million.
WILSON WILL BE LOANED
Wednesday brought news of significant interest in Manchester United striker James Wilson, but Thursday brings more concrete information.
Various papers report that Louis van Gaal is happy to loan out a striker who has still not been named in a match-day squad for a Premier League game this season.
Wilson was close to leaving Old Trafford on Deadline Day, but Van Gaal pulled the plug on that given the exit of Adnan Januzaj and Javier Hernandez. However, the Dutchman is prepared to let Wilson go so long as any loan deal has a clause whereby he can be recalled at any time.
It looks like Derby are the best bet. With Chris Martin, Darren Bent and Andreas Weimann already there, Wilson better make sure he gets some first-team football.
GREALISH WILL CHOO-CHOO-CHOOSE ENGLAND
The international future of Jack Grealish has been up in the air for some time, acting as a facade for the fact that he hasn’t played much club football recently, hampered by injury.
Grealish has played for the Republic of Ireland Under-17, Under-18 and Under-21 sides, but also qualifies for England. Roy Hodgson recently answered questions over his admiration for Grealish, and it looks like Roy may get his way.
The Independent report that Grealish is set to choose England before the final round of qualifying games in October. He still faces a massive task to force his way into Hodgson’s plans though, having played just 905 minutes of Premier League football.
ARSENAL AND SPURS WANT EMBOLO
Breel Embolo is going to be a bloody talent. We picked him on our list of top ten breakthrough stars of 2015/16, and it looks like a lot of clubs share that view.
Embolo is one of only eight players to score in the Champions League when under the age of 18, and has five senior international caps for Switzerland despite only gaining Swiss citizenship in December 2014. He also scored ten goals in 18 league games for Basel last season, including a hat-trick against FC Zurich.
Talksport claim that Arsenal and Tottenham are set to do battle in January to try and sign the striker, who came on as a second-half substitute against England on Tuesday. Embolo is valued at £10m by Basel. Worryingly, that feels like pocket money these days.
AND THE REST
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has ruled out signing any out-of-contract players during the autumn and has no plans to strengthen the squad until the transfer window reopens in January.. West Brom have accused Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy of trying to sign their £25m-rated striker Saido Berahino, 22, for “loose change”… David de Gea has been given 48 hours to win back his Manchester United place in time for Saturday’s huge game against Liverpool… Southampton fear the Netherlands will send an SOS for manager Ronald Koeman.
