Gossip: Xhaka and Mkhitaryan in, Bellerin out? No

To the Guardian first, and their claim that Arsenal are trailing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan. He has incredible eyebrows.

Mkhitaryan is also bloody great at football, having scored 20 times this season. The Armenian moved to Dortmund from Shakhtar Donetsk for £23.5m, with strong links to Tottenham and Liverpool at the time. The Guardian think it might now be time for Mkhitaryan to move to England.

Elsewhere, the Daily Mirror reckon that Arsenal are about to land Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach, having watched the midfielder play 30 times this season. That’s every match, basically. They claim that Xhaka is likely to cost Arsenal £35m, which is pretty steep.

From Borussias with love, if you believe both rumours.

It’s a pretty predictable rumour from The Sun, namely that Valencia want to make Jose Mourinho their next coach after sacking Gary Neville. They also say that Mourinho has been in talks with Valencia for over a month about the gig.

A few things:
1) Of course they bloody would. Mourinho is seen as one of the best coaches in the game. Valencia are no longer an elite club.
2) Jorge Mendes has eight of his fingers in Valencia pies and is mates with Peter Lim, so it’s a fairly 2 + 2 = 4 suggestion.
3) You’ve been telling us for weeks that Mourinho to Manchester United is a done deal.

It’s been a while since Arsenal lost one of their best players to Manchester City, but The Sun think that you’re about to get a wave of 2010 nostalgia. They claim that Hector Bellerin could move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

It should be said that the story is ‘according to reports in Spain’, which we can track to El Confidencial. Let’s just say they aren’t know for their 100% hit rate.

In any case, Bellerin has recently spoken about his respect and love for Arsene Wenger, so any move this summer would be a huge surprise. More likely is a return to Barcelona in 2017 or 2018.
