ZLATAN: THE RETURN?
Paul Ince called it a ‘no-brainer’ but it turns out that those might not have been the ravings of a failed Blackburn manager because reports in Italy claim that Manchester United have made ‘contact’ with Zlatan Ibrahimovic about a return to the club in January when he leaves LA Galaxy on a free transfer.
The Swede is now 38 but has just scored 31 goals in 31 games for the US side and might be ready for a final stint in Europe. United are said to be interested along with Inter Milan and Napoli, while he could yet sign for another season in Los Angeles.
RICE ON THE BOIL?
‘Manchester United have made West Ham’s Declan Rice their top target for next summer, but he may be brought to the club as soon as January,’ claims Goal – who we trust about as far as we could throw them- but at least they are providing gossip on this cold November morning. They even mention a figure of £80m.
They say that ‘he could be joined by Mario Mandzukic’ while the name of Christian Eriksen is also mentioned as a possible January arrival as Manchester United target a return to the Premier League.
AND THE REST
Juventus defender Merih Demiral will be open to the idea of a move in Jan if he can’t break into team. I’m told there is some interest from Arsenal and Man Utd.
Juve not super keen to sell him though at this stage
