Guardiola hits out at ‘ridiculous’ Premier League rule
Pep Guardiola says it is “ridiculous” that Manchester City youngsters Brahim Diaz and Phil Foden do not yet qualify for a Premier League winner’s medal.
Diaz and Foden have both made four Premier League appearances thus far for the champions, with only one game remaining against Southampton on Sunday.
City have been given 40 commemorative medals by the Premier League which they can give to as many players, staff and officials as they want, provided that players with five appearances receive one.
That means Diaz and Foden could yet receive a medal even if they do not feature against Southampton at the weekend, but Guardiola has hit out at the situation (despite being in full control of it).

“I didn’t know it but it looks ridiculous for me,” he said.
“If they want my medal, I will give them my medal.
“They are champions. They have been training with us, like Tosin. From day one, training with us. They are champions.
“Maybe it is so expensive to give three, four, five medals for the young guys.”
