Guardiola stunned by ‘incredible’ Liverpool target
Pep Guardiola was impressed by Lyon duo Houssem Aouar and Tanguy Ndombele during Manchester City’s 2-2 draw in France.
The French side held the Citizens in their Champions League group match but it was enough for Guardiola’s men as they qualified for the last-16 of the competition.
Aouar, who has been linked with Liverpool recently, and Ndombele ran the midfield for Lyon on Tuesday night and Guardiola hailed their performances in particular.
“Houssem Aouar is a very good player, he is incredible,” Guardiola told reporters.
“We talk a lot about Ndombele, but Aouar is also excellent. He’s always very calm with the ball at his feet, with an excellent technical quality.
“Lyon really has a very good team. There are young people full of quality and I think the team is in place tactically, I think we can congratulate them, we have had absences tonight, but we have to congratulate them!”
