After a spectacular start, which saw them lead the Scottish Premiership table until early October, the Accies have struggled in recent weeks and have won just once in their last seven games.
Midfielder Jon Routledge is suspended after his dismissal in the 3-0 defeat at Pittodrie last Saturday.
The two promoted clubs met at Dens Park in October with Dundee running out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Greg Stewart and David Clarkson.
Dundee boss Paul Hartley will hand late checks to skipper Kevin Thomson and striker Greg Stewart.
Both had to come off during last week’s 2-1 defeat by Inverness but Iain Davidson is available again after serving a suspension.
Hartley told The Courier: “Kevin Thomson has a slight hamstring strain. It is not too bad and he might make the weekend. We will wait and see how he is.
“Greg Stewart is a lot better. He suffered a clash of knees and he also got a sore one on his foot. He will probably be given until the last minute.
“Kyle Letheren has been off the last couple of days because of illness and Peter MacDonald is still likely to be out for another few weeks. However, Iain Davidson, who was suspended for the Inverness game, has trained this week and is fine.
“This is a tough game for us, Hamilton are really strong at home. We know how they play, we know what they are about so we need to make sure we play for the full game this week.”
Meanwhile, Hartley has recalled Canadian midfielder Dylan Carreiro from his loan stay with League Two Arbroath.
