Kane thinks his ‘cycle has ended’ at Spurs; Barca eye £175m deal
Harry Kane thinks his time at Spurs is coming to an end with Barcelona lining up him as an alternative to Erling Haaland, according to reports in Spain.
Speculation has intensified over what might lie in store for Kane over the last few weeks after Tottenham’s season threatened to implode following their embarrassing Europa League exit and Manchester City’s need for a new frontman in the wake of Sergio Aguero’s pending departure.
The England captain, who still has another three years left on his current contract, has been honest in the past about being content to say at the north London club providing he sees suitable progression, but was hardly cast-iron when speaking about his future on international duty last week.

He said the topic of his future at Spurs was a “hard question to answer right now” and that “we’ll see where we go” after this summer’s European Championship.
That has led to links that Kane could make a move to City in the summer if they fail to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland.
And it sounds like a similar story for Barcelona too with Spanish publication Sport (via Sport Witness) claiming that Kane and Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martínez are alternatives to Haaland.
When speaking about Kane, Sport claims that the Spurs star thinks his ‘cycle has ended’ at the north London club and that he ‘wants to leave’ Tottenham.
City and Manchester United are understood to be ‘crazy’ about signing Kane but Spurs are refusing to sell to a rival Premier League club.
That leaves Barcelona with a possible route to Kane with the England international thought to be on their ‘agenda’ and the Catalan giants are ‘fully informed of his situation’.
If Barcelona or any other club want to sign Kane they will have to stump up £175m, according to The Sun, with Spurs ‘ready to dig their heels in and make it almost impossible for him to get away before’ his contract expires in the summer of 2024.
Despite the report in Sport, The Sun claims that Real Madrid ‘are the most likely club to try to make a move and Kane would not rule out a switch there but the fee is currently unachievable.’
