Harry Kane does not want to begin contract negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur until after the World Cup, according to a report.

The England captain has less than two years left on his current contract.

He has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich in recent months.

Despite his situation, Harry Kane is remaining calm and appears to be in no rush to pen new terms.

According to the Evening Standard, the 29-year-old is currently focusing on finishing the first half of the season with Tottenham before captaining the Three Lions in Qatar.

This means contract discussions are on hold until he returns to north London after this winter’s tournament.

The report adds that Spurs are also hoping to extend the contracts of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Eric Dier.

It is believed that discussions with the latter will not take place until after the World Cup. His deal also expires in 2024, while Hojbjerg’s runs until 2025.

Kane has always said he would be open to discussing a new deal at his boyhood club but there is believed to be tentative interest from Bayern and Manchester United.

The striker pushed to leave Spurs last summer with Manchester City lodging a huge bid to sign him, but Daniel Levy did not accept said offer.

You could tell Kane was not his usual self during the first half of 2021-22, but he is back to his best under Antonio Conte.

Spurs are eager to agree fresh terms before the end of the season and are wary of entering the 23-24 campaign with their talisman in the final year of his contract.

Kane currently earns around £200,000 per week at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Sporting director Fabio Paratici has previously said he feels “very optimistic” that Kane will extend his contract.

Meanwhile, Bari president Luigi de Laurentiis and sporting director Ciro Polito have discussed the future of their striker, Walid Cheddira, who has been linked with a move to Spurs.

Cheddira has scored 13 goals in as many games and is apparently worth around £13million. Lucky for some.

He currently plays for Serie B side Bari and the Moroccan national team.

The club’s director, Polito, has confirmed that they are yet to receive a bid despite Spurs’ reported interest.

“There has been no official offer for Cheddira,” Polito told Cusano Italia TV (quotes via HITC).

“Obviously, he is a player (with admirers). But, for now, we keep him tight.”

Bari president, De Laurentiis, has also confirmed that there is interest in Cheddira.

“Many Serie A clubs are (showing interest),” he told Mediaset.

“We are happy with his huge explosion (in form).”

“Interest from Serie A? It is still early. The boy is very happy in Bari,” adds agent Bruno di Napoli (Radio Punto Nuovo). “He has a contract here until 2025.”
