Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has picked out West Ham United star Michail Antonio as a player  “who can decide games all on his own” for his side.

Antonio enjoyed one of his best seasons to date for the Hammers last term. In the Premier League, he grabbed ten goals and five assists from his 26 outings.

The forward has made a superb start to the new season as he has been involved in seven goals from West Ham‘s first three league games.

Southampton host West Ham this Saturday at St Mary’s. Ahead of that game (as cited by Hampshire Live), Hasenhuttl heaped praise on Antonio:

“They have those quick strikers and they have a very dynamic strong forward, Antonio, who can decide games all on his own,” Hasenhuttl said.

“They have a strong midfield too and they always get a lot of players into the box. That makes it so tough to defend. They keep the ball well on the front foot and get they get on you quick.”

Earlier this week, Nikola Vlasic suggested that Antonio is one of the best strikers in the Premier League:

“They have those quick strikers and they have a very dynamic strong forward, Antonio, who can decide games all on his own.

“They have a strong midfield too and they always get a lot of players into the box. That makes it so tough to defend. They keep the ball well on the front foot and get they get on you quick.

“I have heard a lot about how professional Tomas [Soucek] and Vlad [Coufal] are and how they have this mentality that they are always working hard and I like that because I am the same player.

“I want to work as hard as possible every day and I’m really professional.

“About Declan [Rice], he’s West Ham captain and he’s only 22 and he’s in the starting XI in the national team, so I think you don’t need to say too much about him. Everybody knows his quality and how good he is.

“Hopefully [like them] I can also be in the history books of West Ham and I hope I will put even deeper things in history, so I’m really, really excited.”
