Troy Deeney told Unai Emery that Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is a “f**king p****” after he was sent off in Watford’s 1-0 loss on Monday night.
The Hornets saw their skipper dismissed with 11 minutes on the clock during the defeat at Vicarage Road after referee Craig Pawson liaised with his assistant before brandishing the red card following a challenge on Torreira – with replays suggesting his forearm struck the midfielder in the face.
Arsenal had taken the lead less than two minutes earlier as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pounced on Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster, who was dallying in possession, to score the only goal as the Gunners picked up a rare away win to return to the top four.
The Daily Mirror claims that Deeney called Pawson’s decision a “f**king embarrassment” before talking to Torreira.
Then as the Watford striker walked off the pitch he pointed back towards the grass and reportedly told Emery: “He’s a f**king p****. I’ve ran past him.”
Analysing the match on Sky Sports, Gary Neville thought it should have been a red card, he said: “15 years ago, you’d say he’s not done a lot wrong. In the 2019 Premier League, he’s got nowhere to go.”
