Hull v Scunthorpe preview

Tigers striker Caleb Folan has been ruled out of the Humber derby.
Folan returned as a second-half substitute for only his third appearance of the season in last week’s 1-1 draw at Barnsley, but suffered a leg injury and faces another spell on the sidelines.
The Tigers will be boosted by the return of on-loan Liverpool defender Daniel Ayala from a three-match suspension, while James Harper could return following illness.
Midfielder Robert Koren remains sidelined with a hamstring strain and Craig Fagan is also unavailable.
Defender Paul McShane is doubtful due to a thigh problem, while Jay Simpson is expected to return to the starting line-up in place of Rowan Vine, who has returned to parent club QPR.
Manager Nigel Pearson has no other new injury or suspension problems, but midfielder Jimmy Bullard is two weeks away from a return from his latest knee injury.
Scunthorpe defender David Mirfin misses the trip to rivals Hull after being ruled out for between four and six weeks through injury.
The 25-year-old was substituted at half-time in last Saturday’s 4-1 home defeat to Leeds with a foot problem.
A scan on Wednesday confirmed the centre-back has suffered a two centimetre tear to the tendon at the bottom of a foot and will be out for the rest of the month at least.
Centre-back Rob Jones also looks set to miss Saturday’s Humber derby, with his broken hand still in plaster, so Niall Canavan and Michael Raynes will be the Iron’s centre-back pairing at the KC Stadium.
On-loan Burnley midfielder Kevin McDonald is available again after a back injury and goalkeeper Joe Murphy is bidding to shake off a groin problem that has sidelined him for the past two games.
