Inter try to end Man United’s Ivan Perisic hopes

Inter Milan have told Manchester United that Ivan Perisic is not for sale and claimed he is discussing a new contract.

Perisic has been a target for Jose Mourinho and United all summer and with Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku all secured the Portuguese boss has been desperate to tie up his fourth summer target.

It had been reported that the transfer fee has been the sticking point, but Inter say the 28-year-old Croatia winger is not for sale.

Inter Milan’s sporting director Piero Ausilio has rubbished speculation surrounding Perisic and Antonio Candreva, who has been linked to Chelsea.

“I don’t understand where some of these stories come from,” Ausilio told Mediaset Premium.

“Candreva has never been on the market and we have absolutely no intention of selling him.

“The same goes for Perisic, who is an important player and we are currently discussing a new contract with him.”

We still think a deal might happen, but it is looking less and less likely.
