‘It feels good’ – Man Utd starlet thanks Rangnick following ‘dream’ call-up

Man Utd starlet Anthony Elanga has thanked Ralf Rangnick after he was called up to play for Sweden’s senior team for the first time.
The 19-year-old has featured prominently under Rangnick. The German became United’s new interim manager in December.

This season has been a difficult one for the Red Devils. Elanga has been one of their bright sparks from this term.
The youngster’s form for Man Utd earned him a place in Sweden’s squad for this international break.
They face the Czech Republic in a World Cup play-off semi-final on Thursday night.
Ahead of this game, Elanga has acknowledged (via Manchester Evening News) the influence Rangnick has had on his career domestically and internationally:
“[Rangnick] has given me many opportunities, it feels good and it is good competition. Everyone is hungry and it is up to me to work hard to start in more matches.”
Elanga went onto describe his Sweden call-up as a dream: “I was born in Sweden, spent 75 per cent of my life here and Sweden means a lot to me.
“Everyone knows that I could have represented Cameroon and England, but for me, it was always Sweden. It is a dream to represent Sweden at this level.”
Man Utd are ‘particularly interested’ in signing AS Roma and England striker Tammy Abraham, according to reports.
The 24-year-old ‘is attracting the attention of many big clubs’, according to Il Messaggero (via Sport Witness).
The Italian outlet state that Man Utd are ‘particularly interested’ in the Roma striker as they ‘continue to monitor him for the possible replacement of Cristiano Ronaldo’.
However, the Italian club ‘do not seem to have any intention of depriving themselves’ of the England international in the upcoming transfer window.
Man Utd are expected to lose Edinson Cavani this summer with his contract expiring, while Anthony Martial has failed to impress during his loan spell at Sevilla.
The Red Devils are unlikely to go into the 2022/23 season with Ronaldo as their only out-and-out striker, meaning a move for Abraham could be in the pipeline.
