Jamie Redknapp reckons Spurs fans will see the best of Giovani Lo Celso next season now that the midfielder has settled in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old joined Tottenham on an initial season-long loan deal last summer before the north London club took up their option to complete a £27.2m deal in January.

Lo Celso has struggled to impress so far with the Argentina international scoring two goals and contributing only one assist in 36 appearances in all competitions this campaign.

However, Redknapp reckons Spurs fans can look forward to seeing the best of their playmaker next season.

“I think you are right in what you are saying. I think we will see the best of him [Lo Celso] next season,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports ahead of Spurs’ win over Leicester City.

“He has been in and out of the team and he was injured when he first come. It has not been easy for him.

“I do believe long-term that Jose looks at that midfield and thinks I need someone else in there next year.

“I am sure they are going to buy someone. They are not having [Tanguy] Ndombele. That is obvious so there will be players I am sure coming into the midfield.

“But Le Celso will be on next year and I expect big things from him.”
