Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen lost 20 minutes of memory after a clash of heads with Simon Mignolet.

Janssen was picked to lead the line against Belgium by Netherlands manager Danny Blind, but had to come off early with suspected concussion.

That followed an incident in which Janssen and Liverpool goalkeeper Mignolet clashed heads while challenging for a 50/50.

As the ball was played forward, Mignolet rushed out to punch it clear. Having done so, the pair collided with both receiving treatment on the pitch.

Speaking after the game, Blind confirmed that Janssen had lost his memory for 20 minutes, a worrying development.

“Vincent Janssen is going to be a very difficult story,” Blind said.

“The physician told me it is a concussion.

“He lost 20 minutes of his memory and he doesn’t know what happened.

“We have to be careful with that and talk it through.”
