Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson thinks Jose Mourinho and Chelsea winger Willian will be keen to reunite this summer at Spurs.

The Brazil international will be available on a free transfer in the summer when his contract expires at the end of June.

Willian had been locked in discussions over a new deal, previously revealing he was holding out for a three-year extension with Chelsea only offering two-year terms.

With Newcastle United set for a huge takeover, Willian has been the subject of interest from the Magpies, while he has also been linked with a transfer across London to Spurs or Arsenal.

The 31-year-old recently said it “would be fine” to move to a rival club, giving Premier League clubs hope of landing him and Robinson thinks Tottenham will be his “first choice”.

“Willian will not come cheap wages wise,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“A player that has a great relationship with Mourinho. If the player wants to stay in London and Tottenham was an option for him, you would imagine that would be his first choice.

“Loyalties towards Chelsea would have to be put to one side.

“I do not think it would take long for him to win over the Spurs fans.

“A lot of Spurs fans would take him with open arms because he is a top-class player.”
