Josh King and Robin Olsen are part of a group of players who will be allowed to leave Everton at the end of the month.

The Toffees have made moves to trim down their wage bill this summer.

As such, forward King will not be offered a contract extension and will leave Goodison Park on June 30.

Every Premier League club’s most valuable asset

The 29-year-old was only signed from Championship outfit Bournemouth in January. He failed to impress during 11 substitute appearances under Carlo Ancelotti and didn’t register a single goal contribution.

King is joined by Swedish keeper Olsen, who will return to Roma at the end of his loan spell.

He spent most of the season covering for first choice shot-stopper Jordan Pickford, limiting him to just seven Premier League appearances throughout 2020/21.

Everton were linked with a permanent move but decided against a formal bid.

Theo Walcott is also in the departing quintet, with his return to Southampton already finalised.

The English winger came through the Saints’ academy before joining Arsenal as a teenager.

He spent the recent campaign back at St Mary’s on loan and has now signed a two-year deal with Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men.

Walcott made 85 appearances for Everton during a three-year spell, scoring 11 goals.

Former Crystal Palace man Yannick Bolasie has finally secured a permanent Goodison Park exit. He’s had a torrid time with the club since joining from the Eagles in a £26million deal.

Bolasie spent the final few months of the season on loan with Middlesbrough and could join them permanently.

Muhamed Besic is the final man to be allowed to leave. The midfielder spent last term on loan with Sheffield United and looked like a good squad player, but he clearly didn’t do enough to impress his full-time employers.

Besic didn’t make a single appearance under Ancelotti in the season just finished.

Everton officials will now aim to improve the squad, while also continuing the search for a new boss.

Ancelotti, despite previously rejecting the rumours, rejoined Real Madrid earlier this week.

Nuno Espirito Santo is the current frontrunner to take over following his successful spell with Wolves.
