Klopp ‘rejects £91m transfer’ as Liverpool target Isco

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly rejected the opportunity to re-sign Philippe Coutinho.

Barcelona are desperate to offload Coutinho on a permanent basis to raise funds for their bid to bring Neymar back from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

The Brazilian is currently on loan at Bayern Munich – who Barcelona hoped would activate an option to buy the 27-year-old – but they reportedly plan to send him back at the end of the season.

Coutinho has managed seven goals and seven assists in 23 appearances since joining the German giants on a temporary basis last summer.

According to El Desmarque, Klopp has laughed off the idea of bring Coutinho back to Liverpool for €108m (£91m).

Coutinho was the focal point of Klopp’s team before Liverpool relented to Barcelona’s incessant pressure by sanctioning a £142m departure in January 2018.

He scored 54 goals in 201 appearances for Liverpool but his departure coincided with the Merseysiders’ rise to the top.

The report also claims that Real Madrid have offered Isco to Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp thought to be more keen on a move for the Spanish playmaker.
